Anatomy Trains Structural Integration
An ATSI session or series begins with a discussion of your body history, habits, goals, and a detailed postural assessment, before proceeding to hands-on.
The 3-Series, the 12-Series, and Individual Sessions
ATSI is typically done in a series of 3, or 12, sometimes augmented by individual sessions to work on particular issues that require additional specific attention. You can try any, or all.
The 3-Series
The 3-Series is a compact, effective “mini-series”. It can be a nice “taste” of what structural integration can do, without committing to a full 12-Series. And for some, it’s enough. It addresses the body in sections. Like building a house (and for the same reason) it goes from the ground up.
Session 1 focuses on stabilizing your body’s foundation. From feet to hips.
Session 2 builds upon Session 1, moving up to the rib cage, shoulders, and upper arms; freeing restrictions to deep, even, breathing; and easy neck and shoulder movement.
Session 3 centers on increasing ease, balance and smooth movement in the spine, and integrating body structure and awareness into a new whole.
The 12-Series
The 12-Series is the full, thorough, in-depth series. It addresses the body in layers and planes. For instance, Session 1 addresses the Superficial Front Line, Session 2 is the Superficial Back Line, Session 3 is the Lateral Line, Session 4 is the Spiral Line. At Session 5 we go to the lower half of the Deep Front Line, and so on. So each “plane” of the body is addressed multiple times, at different levels of depth. It is intended as a comprehensive re-balancing and re-training of posture.
Individual Sessions
Sometimes a particular area needs additional work and attention, or there is just one thing you really want or can afford to work on. Such as restoring comfort and mobility to an area that is recovering from joint replacement surgery. You can request a full or half session just for these, without committing to a series.
